My Role
Visual Designer
Morgan Stanley Matrix
Matrix is a comprehensive financial platform integrating market insights and execution capabilities. It combines pre-trade analytics, portfolio management, pricing, and execution.
The platform offers quantitative solutions, FX execution, prime brokerage, real-time research, and advanced analytics. Matrix aims to empower financial professionals with the tools and information needed to make informed decisions and execute trades efficiently.
My Role
Within the Agile team, I created dashboards for interest rates and bonds in Matrix. Collaborating with a UX Business Analyst, we used User-Centered Design to address pain points across domains.
I developed UI interfaces using Matrix building blocks, creating intuitive dashboards that met user needs within the established design system.
Architecture Flows
My first task: streamlining app registration. After team consultations, I defined requirements for a secure, user-friendly authentication system.
I mapped efficient processes, integrating two-factor authentication. Result: a sophisticated login system enhancing security and user experience.
Blotters and Tables
For blotters and tables, I balanced data density with clarity, using a color-coded layout for the Swap Rate grid. The design featured customisable, sortable columns, filterable rows, and collapsible sections.
Interactive elements improved usability without clutter, creating flexible tools for rapid decision-making in dynamic markets.
Outcome
The Morgan Stanley Matrix project enhanced digital trading capabilities, improving user experience with intuitive navigation, clearer data presentation, and optimised workflows.
The interface set a new industry standard, winning numerous awards and maintaining a competitive edge. This groundbreaking design continues to influence financial technology interfaces.
