My Role
Lead UI Designer

DB Risk

Deutsche Bank's Risk division aimed to enhance Cross Product Valuation by implementing Auto Number Regression (ANR) to analyse and forecast financial time series data. This approach helps model risk factors affecting complex financial products across asset classes.

The division aimed to enhance self-service and brand consistency by implementing a common UI stack under Portfolio Manager, future-proofing risk management tools.

My Role

I spearheaded a user-centered approach, collaborating closely with Deutsche Bank's Risk division.

Through iterative design cycles and continuous user feedback, we refined solutions that met technical requirements while enhancing the user experience for risk analysts and managers.

Sketching to Wireframes

I led the team through iterative sketching, from low-fidelity wireframes to detailed mockups. Using digital and analog tools, we rapidly explored and refined multiple solutions, identifying the most promising directions for development..

Design & Development Pairings

I fostered close design-development collaboration through regular sync-ups and pair design sessions. This ensured technically feasible designs optimized for performance, minimized handoff friction, and resulted in a more cohesive final product.

Generating Concepts

I oversaw UI element refinement to align with Deutsche Bank's Autobahn design system, ensuring consistency across applications. We adapted Autobahn components for risk management tools, balancing familiarity and functionality.

Prototyping

I oversaw interactive prototype creation and usability testing with Risk division users, gathering quantitative and qualitative data.

This process identified issues early and validated design decisions, resulting in a more refined, user-friendly product.

Module Componentary

I designed a streamlined reconciliation configuration interface for Cross-Product Valuation in Risk areas, creating intuitive controls for complex rules and impact communication.

Accessibility Standards

A modern aesthetic aligned with trends and Deutsche Bank's guidelines. I ensured high contrast for accessibility compliance, focusing on users with color deficiencies.

Outcome

Deutsche Bank's Risk P&L IT group implemented the UI strategy, integrating Auto Number Regression. We created an intuitive interface enhanced user experience, and increased efficiency in risk modeling PoC, showcasing Deutsche Bank's commitment to technological advancement.

For future development, we proposed introducing an AI algorithm to predict and mitigate risks within ANR in cross-product valuation, further enhancing the system's capabilities.
